The sourcing promise
An honest record.
What the catalog knows, what it does not, and the standards that connect every published detail to its evidence.
01 / Our method
Evidence before certainty
Person, season, and place facts need a source record behind them. Network reporting, published press, official public accounts, and secondary references are distinguished in the source desk. A wiki is a secondary source, not an official account.
02 / Our method
Unknown is a useful answer
An absent birth date is “Birth date unknown.” A missing hometown is “Hometown unknown.” An absent dated status is “Current status unknown.” We never estimate dates or infer a status from a photo, silence, or someone else’s information.
03 / Our method
A status has a date
Only sourced, dated status rows explicitly marked as known publish. If a report is older than 12 months, it is prefixed “Last reported [date] — may have changed.” The date a source was accessed is not a new event date.
04 / Our method
Family facts require human review
Only facts marked privacy_checked by a human publish. The review checks published evidence, contact privacy, and information about minors. 11 family facts currently await that review. This is a catalog coverage count.
05 / Our method
Images need rights, not just a URL
A reusable image must have a hosted public URL, a source, creator credit, and a rights note. Image cards show these details. Missing or broken imagery uses an initials or location placeholder. Destination reference images are not presented as production stills.
06 / Our method
Routes describe the recorded evidence
Travel stops are ordered within their season. A single recorded stop uses “Single-location season — 1 stop” and has no route connector. A season without sourced stops says “Filming locations not yet sourced.” A partial recorded route is not a claim that all filming locations are known.
07 / Our method
Coverage is different from a finding
Coverage counts describe rows in this catalog, including unknowns. They are calculated from table reads refreshed within five minutes and are exempt from the minimum sample rule. Other derived statistics publish only with n ≥ 10, a reproducible stored method, year, and source. They never judge a person.
08 / Our method
Summaries need editorial review
The schema includes reviewed biography, season, and place summaries. Legacy research notes are not automatically promoted to reviewed editorial copy. Unreviewed summaries remain unpublished.
09 / Our method
Corrections and removal
Use the corrections form to identify a record, the problem, and any supporting source. Requests are stored for review. Include only what is necessary to resolve the issue; do not include private contact data or private details about family members.
